With new brands cropping up every week, it can be hard to keep up with who’s doing what. From sunglasses through to glassware, OPUMO stocks brands to watch through every discipline, and they’re all linked by one thing: a focus on great design

If you’re on the look out for emerging brands with a focus on design and production, or interested in what new releases are on the market, you’re in the right place. Here are our brands of the week.

KAMO

KAMO sunglasses are defined by their quality. The finest acetate is used as well as high quality Carl Zeiss lenses, which makes each pair both incredibly stylish and useful for combatting the sun’s harsh rays. The brand’s latest collection though, a collaboration with Libertine-Libertine sees KAMO’s designs take on a fresh, contemporary perspective, taking inspiration from bold ‘90s designs.

VOID Watches

If you’re looking for an expertly designed, well made minimal watch, VOID Watches is a great place to start. The brand’s clean, pared back aesthetic is matched by top notch build quality, found in the use of stainless steel cases as well as the brand’s leather straps and Milanese mesh bracelets.

Pinqponq

Pinqponq makes some of the very best functional yet sustainable backpacks around. The brand’s use of pockets and durable, ecological fabrics really sets it apart, resulting in packs that are as useful for the daily commute as they are on a weekend away. Its latest collection of coated bags takes this notion a step further though, utilising fabrics coated with a protective wax layer, making them water-resistant and even more able of taking a beating.

Oliver Cabell

Oliver Cabell is known as much for its clean, minimal sneakers as it is for the materials it uses and the construction methods utilised to produce its shoes. Hand-finished production is completed in Spain, while the finest Italian leathers and suedes are favoured for their softness and long-lasting durability. One of our favourite styles, the GAT sneaker, is directly inspired by German army trainers of the ‘70s and ‘80s, with its distinctive panelling and contrasting gum sole.

Inabo

Not content with the meagre offering of slippers available, Inabo was created with the idea of elevating the slipper into something both smart, well made and still comfortable. The brand’s Slowfer model is what was created - a slip-on shoe made from leather or suede, handmade in a family run factory in Portugal.

POLKRA

POLKRA’s passion is homeware. From hand-poured candles to artist-designed tea towels, POLKRA is all about improve on daily essentials, turning them into items both pleasing to look at and enjoyable to use. Its range of glassware is a case in point - from tumblers through to wine glasses, the brand’s glassware is expertly designed and built to last.
