Filling Pieces has unveiled a minimal and futuristic ensemble of sneakers for its first AW17 drop – with the full collection to launch at OPUMO in the coming months.

Titled ‘MOVE WITHOUT BARRIERS,’ the collection takes inspiration from the ‘resourcefulness and ingenuity’ of the Dukha People - a nomadic tribe in Mongolia. Known for herding reindeer, the life-cycle of the animal helps perpetuate the Tsaatan culture, providing food and clothes. The ideology of this culture speaks directly with Filling Pieces, as they have assembled a collection that pays homage to the ‘adaptability’ and ‘ingenuity’ of the Tsaatan.

Built with the brand’s classic approach to quality, the collection features several exciting new patterns and fabrics across both high and low silhouettes alike. This new collection marks a new level of innovation for the footwear label, implementing heat-fused materials, and launching multiple new silhouettes into the lineup. The new sneaker offerings are predominantly wrapped in blue and yellow hues to reflect the Mongolian mountain ranges, alongside ‘White Stone’ which references the icy terrain where the Mongolian tribes roam throughout the various seasons. Stand-out sneakers from the collection include the rugged Low Top Astro Joichi Army Green Sneakers, the progressive looking Roots Runner Roman that features the signature FP suede upper with the all-new sculpted Runner sole, and the Low Plasma Heel Cap Orbit that takes inspiration from vintage basketball sneakers.
