KOLEDA is the Swiss-based start-up that's setting out to revolutionise everything to do with how we heat our homes. Technology is key - and along with class-leading design of the insides, KOLEDA's form follows function approach extends to how the outsides of each product melds with your interior decor. First up, the company's much-praised minimalist Solus+ infrared heater won fans across the planet. Now KOLEDA is launching the small, mighty and eminently stylish Ember.
KOLEDA's philosophy is to use the latest technology to bring heating into the 2020s. “Many homes still rely on traditional radiators that have been in place for decades, with some older homes even having their heating date back to the 1800s," says KOLEDA's Maxim Interbrick, "our unique patented technology, along with numerous smart home features, will revolutionise and modernise the way we all think about heating, whilst drastically cutting bills."
The proof of course is in the product. While the Solus+ uses infrared technology, its diminutive yet powerful sibling Ember is billed as incorporating "the latest generation of ceramic technology". Exterior design is described as "velodrome", referencing the cycling arenas its oval silhouette resembles. Its small size means that, once plugged in, the Ember can be placed on any surface ready to heat up even the largest of rooms at speed.
Key to its efficiency is compatibility with KOLEDA's own smartphone app, allowing heating to be monitored or adjusted from wherever you are. There's also voice compatibility with both Alexa and Google Assistant. KOLEDA says the Ember's ceramic technology means that all heat is instantly available, helped by a small, noiseless fan. A precision stainless steel screen is fitted to each heater, and there's a choice of Emerald Green or Ocean Blue colourways. The result is that the KOLEDA Ember exudes an all-round cool. Which, for even the most futuristic heater, is quite an achievement.
