Born out of the Southern California surf scene in the late '80s, Stüssy has been revolutionising the state of casualwear ever since. It all began when a surfer by the name of Shawn Stüssy began screening T-shirts and shorts, which he sold to friends in Laguna Beach, California. His graffiti-influenced handwritten surname was emblazoned on everything he produced, and soon enough his name was out there and he had garnered a reputation for his unique yet ultra-wearable designs.
Fast forward 30 or so years later and Stüssy is bigger than ever, beloved by everyone from surfers and skaters to musicians and artists. The brand is characterised by its offbeat streetwear-inspired tees, hoodies, jackets and accessories, all of which feature that iconic branding. If you're looking to add some Stüssy to your wardrobe, you'll need to find your perfect fit first. Scroll on for our ultimate guide to Stüssy sizing for everything you need to know about how the brand's clothing fits.
When it comes to buying Stüssy tees, there are no hard and fast rules about how they should fit. Choose your normal size if you're after that perfect fit and opt for a size up if you prefer a slouchier look, which generally tends to work quite well with Stüssy's relaxed streetwear vibe
Again, this really depends on how you like your hoodies and sweatshirts to sit on your body. If you want an extra cosy fit that's ideal for lounging around in at home, it might be worth opting for a size up. Otherwise, take your normal size.
Stüssy's jackets and coats are designed to fit true to size, but it's worth considering the sorts of outfits you'll be wearing them with and what you'll be layering underneath. If you're after a sports jacket that's suitable for those more sophisticated affairs, definitely take your normal size, but feel free to take a size up if you're after an oversized chore jacket that you can wear a jumper underneath.
When it comes to finding your perfect pair of Stüssy trousers, we recommend taking your normal size as they tend to have a slightly baggy appearance anyway. If you're not sure, you can always order two sizes and return the pair that doesn't quite fit.
The same sizing advice applies for Stüssy shorts as it does for the trousers. Take your normal size unless you'd prefer an extra baggy look that you can tighten with a belt.
