Imagined in Paris, crafted near Venice, in Peru and in Brittany, imbued with ethics and style. Tricot is the young French label that wants us all to fall in love with the sweater again. After all, Tricot is French for sweater. These are collections of luxury basics which cosset the wearer while ensuring full transparency of production, often featuring recycled cashmere. Deluxe, in our times, should surely mean the very best for everyone.
Founders are digital entrepreneur Tom Lehman and leading fashion designer Rémi de Laquintane. They describe their mission as "creating high-quality pieces that you can and want to wear forever". There is no fast fashion here, rather a focus on creating "timeless pieces .. produced sustainably, and sold at a fair and honest price". All of this would be as of nothing without an almost obsessive insistence on impeccable cut in deliberately limited collections of sustainable luxury essentials.
High quality materials are painstakingly selected for their sustainability. For Tricot, that means organic wool and cotton as well as natural wool and wool blends and alpaca. Then there's Tricot's signature material, available in many of their collections: recycled cashmere. Tricot point out that cashmere from discarded items is eminently reusable and they've committed themselves to doing just that.
Best quality cashmere fibres are selected by hand by Italian specialists and blended with new cashmere to create an entirely fresh material: recycled cashmere. Virgin cashmere in turn is sourced from selected farms in Mongolia where goats are combed each spring to collect the cashmere. The resulting pieces - whether of recycled cashmere or virgin cashmere - showcase this personal luxury as quietly perfect sweaters, polo necks, turtle necks and polos.

Workshops are located close Venice, chosen by Tricot after an 18-month search. Knitted pieces are hand-crafted in Peru, while in a studio in Brittany, Tricot's made-to-order service crafts custom pieces in a tradition that dates back to 1889. It's an example of how Tricot effortlessly melds the past and the present to create pieces for all of our futures. Whether your choice is hoodie or v-neck, polo or roll neck, Tricot has the lifetime piece for your wardrobe. As essential as luxury gets.
